Marty Gage on Insight Translation
Permalink
Much if the work we do at Lextant bridges the gap between research and design. We call this activity insight translation, and it’s something I’ll be talking about at the upcoming Design Research Conference in Chicago, at 2 p.m. Sept. 19, 2008.
My presentation will focus on how the expression of design problems (or opportunities) in a meaningful and inspirational manner can be the difference between great design thinking and wasted time and money. And how insight translation is a key to achieving it.
This conference is one of our favorites. This year, it’s being held at the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, Sept. 19-20. The Conference is a collaborative forum hosted by the Institute of Design, created to explore emerging topics, methods and issues in design research across a wide spectrum of design disciplines. My last presentation at the Conference, title About, With and For, was held in 2005. I’m pleased to be going back.
